Cafeteria Services

The school cafeteria serves a well balanced lunch daily. Sandburg offers a breakfast and snack program as well. Sample menus are sent home on a monthly basis.

The Point of Sale program provides a pin number account for each student. Students can purchase lunch on a daily basis or use their prepaid pin account. Parents are encouraged to purchase meals in advance for their child. It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure that their child has a positive meal account balance.

The child's student ID number will be required to set-up the account the first time. Payments will take 2-3 business days to be posted in the cafeteria system. Contact 858.627.7330 with questions about PIN Cards or PayPAMS (Parent Account Management Systems).

The school has no lunch fund. Parents are urged to provide lunch for their children, especially during the first week of school. We also encourage parents to place emergency money in their child's account to be used whenever he/she forgets to bring a lunch. Parents may also track account meal balances and deposit funds directly into student lunch accounts using the district's PayPAMS system. Please visit the Food Services website or call 858-627-7330 for more information.

Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast is served at 7:15 am daily and ends at 7:40 am. A hot lunch will be served daily in the cafeteria. All questions concerning food services should be directed to the Dee Kangas, Cafeteria Manager at 858.566-0510 ext. 1173.

Cost of Meals

The cost of lunch is $2 and includes milk (not sold without milk unless a written statement from your doctor is on file with the cafeteria).

The cost of breakfast or snack is $1. Those bringing lunch from home can purchase milk for 50 cents.

Meal Applications

Some students qualify for the Free and Reduced-Price Lunch Program. The Free & Reduced-Price Meal application packets will be sent home the first day of school. One application covers all children in the same household with the exception of Foster and Group Home children. Each foster child will need to submit an individual meal application. The packet also includes a Student Enrollment Report Contact Sheet to be completed and returned to the school office which will then be forwarded to Food Services Department. The sheet will be used to set-up the school's email report which will identify which students have submitted applications and their eligibility status. For information or with questions, contact 858.627.7328.
